*_A good finish_*
For our last game, we had to play this year's champion: Ibbenbüren. Let's be honest, we had a very good game. Being able to keep the best offense of our league under 60 points is something impressive. The first quarter wasn't easy (13-19, after 10 minutes) but we defended better and played good offense in the second quarter (15-10, 28-29, after 20 minutes). Everything was still possible at the start of the third quarter but the visitors did a descent job controlling us (12-18, 40-47 after 30 minutes). We did the efforts we needed and came back at the end of the last quarter but a lack of experience in the "hot" moments on our side allowed the champion to win the game with a short lead (16-11, 56-58, final score).
We were a bit short for a /perfect/ ending to our season but we can be proud. The boys showed until the last moments, and against the best team, how much they had accomplished this year. All this hard work payed off, we find pride in the investment we made and in the results we obtained this season. Thank you to the players, the coaches, the TSVE organization, to the parents and those who showed support! See you next season ;-)

*_Nice win!_*
Well, it could gave been a perfect finish for the season but we still have one game. With only 7 players, we had stay motivated the whole game and we did it! We started right and took the first quarter (18-18, after 10 minutes) and managed the second one (13-19, 31-37, after 20 minutes). We didn't let go in the third quarter (18-34, 49-71, after 30 minutes) and didn't stop our effort in the fourth quarter (21-34, 70-105, final score).
This game proves the hard work the boys did this year and show their improvement. We can be proud!

U18 vs. BBG Herford
It is clear to see that our players have developed throughout the season. They play with more quality and their decision making is much more improved now. They also became tougher in terms of their character, but in my opinion, they still lack some of the true fighting spirit in the moments when the game becomes tight and the opponent puts more pressure on you. Herford is the kind of a team that plays with a lot of confidence. They also played zone the three quarters of the game, which makes it very hard to create any rhythm on offense and also very questionable decision if you want to develop young players. And also Herford were pretty good in running the fast break. For the first two quarters we managed to deal with that, but then in the 3rd quarter we started to fall apart, unfortunately. As a result, minus 17 at the end. Still, I want our guys to keep their heads up and to continue their work. We have to games left and it is important to show good effort in them.

Rough reality
Without a real training in the week and only seven players to play against Brakel, the game was going to be hard. Brakel quickly showed us that this match was their's (20-9, after 10 minutes). The second quarter was a lot more defensive and we did better but not enough to really control the home team (12_13, 32_22, after 20 minutes). After half-time, we didn't have a good reaction ( 14-11, 46-33, after 30 minutes). The last quarter was a formality for Brakel who strongly finished the game (26-15, 72-48, final score).
We have to remember that we can't take anything for granted and only work pays off but we have to choose it. Let's choose to work right for the end of the season.

Two in a row.
For our second game in 4 days, we wanted to prove that our last game was not a "lucky" win. In order to do that, we had a very solid first quarter (18-10, after 10 minutes). The second quarter was also very good even though we had trouble finishing it (20-17, 38-27, after 20 minutes). We didn't start very well the third quarter because Werne adjusted their defense and came back up to 3 points behind us, but we didn't let them score for the last 4 minutes of the quarter (13-10, 51-37, after 30 minutes). We wanted to really finish strong the match and won the fourth quarter (20-9, 71-46, final score).
Was it a good game? Of course! It was made of will, smartness and control but I truly believe this can be our "reference" game. It's the one we have to build one. It's the one that shows work pays off but also reminds us we have to keep working hard.

Heart first!
Going to play away with only 7 players to a team we lost by 17 points on the first game, let's face it, it seemed hard. The first quarter was a direct reminder of that (19-9, after 10 minutes). Although it looked over already, something inside our players was growing and they took the second quarter (16-21, 35-30, after 20 minutes). The third quarter started with a smart and strong team of Telgte increasing their lead but, fighting hearts first, we didn't give up and took this one too (20-23, 55-53, after 30 minutes). In a very defensive fourth quarter, we managed to stay ahead with 1 point until 3s before the end of the game. After a time-out, we scored on our in-bounce and won the game (almost) at the buzzer !
As a joke, I told the players that this win was for me because of the in-bounce system that worked really well but, to be truly honest, it's really their victory ! They showed a completely different side of themselves than last week. We can be proud of this one and the players can be proud. Let's keep this spirit for the next games coming.

A hard but logical loss
The Gütersloh team, to be totally honest, is one of the two teams who clearly have a chance of winning the championship at the end of the season. They showed their qualities straight up (13-26, after 10 minutes). The second quarter was also a very quick one (20-30, 33-56, after 20 minutes). We had a little reaction of pride in the third one (26-23, 59-70, after 30') but the visitors finished well the game in the fourth quarter (15-27, 74-106, final score).
Although we had to live events that should never happen on a Basketball court, we have to acknowledge the fact that Gütersloh is a very good team and played better Basketball than us. Now, let's don't forget that we are the ones to chose how we are going to play.

Back to work
On this game against Warburg, we forgot what made us a team and what made us win the last game. Although we were able to contain the visitors in the first quarter (20-20, after 10 minutes), they overwhelmed us in the second quarter by not letting us score any basket for during 5 minutes (11-18, 31-38, after 20 minutes). The third quarter saw Warburg be very strong physically in their effort to continue a good game (15-20, 46-38, after 30'). In the fourth quarter we weren't able to react and it was just a formality for them (17-23, 63-81, final score).
We have to remember to be in action and not in reaction. We have to impose our rhythm and our style of play, especially at home. Having strong will is not enough, we have to decide to be powerful and relentless in our efforts. Back to work and to the next game.

"That's what we want!"
Let's not talk about the events that could of have made this game a lot harder but, once it started, the boys showed what they wanted to do: win! The 1st quarter clearly lighted the way (17-30, after 10 minutes). The Mustangs tried to adapt themselves and their defense in the 2nd quarter but it had a little impact (17-25, 34-55, after 20 minutes). What the players did in the 3rd quarter was exactly what we needed: stay focused (10-22, 44-77, after 30 minutes). The home team won the 4th and last quarter but it didn't change anything because they won by 2 points only (21-19, 65-96, final score).
The Mustangs weren't at their best but we also had players missing and the game we had, was a very impressive game. We did a very good match on both ends of the court. To be honest, we knew this would happen but what we really liked the attitude and the will the boys had for this game. Bravo and keep it up!

Tough love
We can be sure that the boys love this game. Having to play a Saturday morning, away and without the "big guys" sounded like mission impossible. But, that didn't scare the players who had a very good start (7-17, after 10 minutes) but we weren't able to score in the 5 fist minutes of the 2nd quarter and barely saved our lead (17-8, 24-25, after 20 minutes). Although we started well the 3rd quarter, Paderborn had a good physical impact agains us (22-16, 46-41, after 30 minutes). The last quarter saw both teams chase each other until the last 30 seconds. With a 3-Pointer, we took a 1 point lead but weren't able to preserve it. We got scored on right after and a bad pass give our opponents an easy basket. But, a hard and very doubtful call by the referees, 9 seconds before the end of the game, sealed our chances of tying the game and go to over-time.
It's very sad, but we can be proud of the boys. To the next game, quick!

"Christmas is over"
No more gifts and nothing free anymore. We couldn't expect any more when we have to go play the first team of the board, Ibbenbüren. They quickly showed us why they are at this position (36-15, after 10 minutes) and the fact that we did a little better in the second quarter didn't really help (15-8, 51-23, after 20 minutes). The home team didn't not step down and continued rolling over us (25-18, 76-41, after 30 minutes). The last quarter did not bring us anything more (14-14, 90-55, final score).
One word, work! Work to prepare the next hard game.

"An early Christmas present"
Here it is. Finally! The first "real" victory of our season. The first quarter was an observation round that the BC Leopoldshöhe finished with a "buzzer beater" (16-18, after 10 minutes) but the second quarter was a chase and catch game that we won right at the end (16-13, 32-31, after 20 minutes). The boys started the third quarter the way they finished the second one: very strong, and controlled after (24-13, 56-44, after 30 minutes). The fourth quarter allowed us to increase our lead and close the game with a 20 points advantage (21-23, 87-67, final score).
Of course, we're happy of the victory but what we saw today is more important than that. Boys happy to play together, sharing the ball and doing the efforts for one another. A team - with a big T! That's what we saw and that's what we have to continue to be.

There you go!
"Ouch!"
Painful. This loss is painful but our fault. Not to diminish the game the BBG Herford did but after the very good start the game had (16-18, after 10 minutes), we forgot to play in the second quarter (18-6, 34-24, after 20 minutes) and did worse in the third one (16-1, 50-25, after 30 minutes). The last one was a bit better (21-8, 71-33, final score) but still, attitude and mental comes first and basketball fallows. To the next game, quick!

"Not this time!"
The match against the TV Brakel wasn't a match for the simple reason that the visitors made us lose are basketball. The first quarter showed immediately our limits (6-16, after 10 minutes') and we managed to have a correct 2nd quarter (11-12, 17-28, after 20 minutes). But right after the half-time, Brakel insisted and increased their lead (14-21, 31-49, after 30 minutes). The last quarter had a better defensive part from our side but we weren't able to score a lot (8-14, 39-63, final score).

"Better is not a win!"
That's the only phrase the boys had to say after the end of the game. It is maybe the toughest loss so far because we were in contact during all the game. After a solid 1st QT (16-16, after 10 minutes), we struggled to provoke inside and relied on our shots during the 2nd QT (15-11, 31-27, after 20 minutes). The team came back strong after the half-time and quickly erased the lead Werne had and we led the score for the first time but it was a chase and catch 3rd QT that saw the home team increase their advance (17-14, 48-41, after 30 minutes). The boys gave all they had in the last quarter but a lucky basket from Werne in the last minute and a hard referee call did not allow us to get our first win of the season (11-13, 59-54, final score).
The final word is for the boys: this one is hard, but the next one is ours!

U18m vs. TV Friesen Telgte
"So close but yet, so far". This sentence is the perfect résumé of the game the U18 boys had on Saturday evening. TV TELGTE came to our gym with a solid team but this didn't scare our guys who wanted to catch their first home win.
We had to follow the rhythm the visitors gave the game during the 1QT (10-16, after 10 minutes) and the team was able to control them during the 2Qt (9-9, 19-25, after 20 minutes). During the 3QT, we tried more but didn't succeed (11-14, 30-39, after 30 minutes); the 4QT saw our scoring decrease but our defense stood straight (7-15, 37-54, final score).
Although we lost, we have to understand that there are real positive signs to see. TV TELGTE scored only 54 points which means something: out defense is in place. It's now time to score some baskets!

Ergebnis: 62:68 (22:18, 17:7, 13:20, 10:23)

Ohne Defense kein Sieg
Endstand: 56:59 (12:13, 17:11, 15:15, 12:20).
